Building new homes and investing in our community

Published: 17/11/2016

窪蹋勛圖厙s commitment to building new council and affordable homes under its ambitious Strategic Housing and Regeneration Programme (SHARP) continues to benefit the local community. In addition to meeting local housing needs, the developments at the former Custom House Lane School, Connahs Quay and The Walks, Flint have so far seen significant investment in the local community. Wates Residential, 窪蹋勛圖厙s development partner, has recorded this investment since the first development commenced at the Custom House Lane site, Connahs Quay in May 2016. Over 194 local people have benefitted from employment and training initiatives from these two developments in Connahs Quay and Flint and local businesses have benefitted greatly due to the SHARP commitment to source local goods, services and trades wherever possible. Wates Residential has also been involved in many events which have benefitted local charities and community causes and often this has been on a voluntary basis by Wates Residential staff. The Deputy Leader of 窪蹋勛圖厙, Councillor Bernie Attridge said; It is really pleasing to see the positive impact that the building of the new council and affordable homes in 窪蹋勛圖厙 is having on the local community. I am delighted that in such a short period into the five year programme that Wates Residential have proved their commitment towards investing in the local 窪蹋勛圖厙 community. Lee Sale, Business Director of Wates Residential said; With our development work on site progressing at pace, it is a great time to take stock of the positive impact that 窪蹋勛圖厙 Councils major housing investment is having on the local community. Creating training and employment opportunities for our neighbours across 窪蹋勛圖厙 has always been a significant priority for Wates Residential and it gives me pride to have already seen so many local people benefit from our work.
