New improved parking on 窪蹋勛圖厙s Coast Path

Published: 26/02/2016

窪蹋勛圖厙s Countryside Service has completed another building block on the road to coastal regeneration by resurfacing a small but key car park at Greenfield Docks. The project was pulled together by Countryside Ranger Tim Johnson and will allow the recreational and commercial activities on the dock continue to grow. Cllr Derek Butler, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: This is the Countryside Services first major spend from the money awarded by the Coastal Communities Fund last year. Weve spent over 瞿13,000 on having this car park resurfaced which has resolved an issue which has been a problem for a while. We have upgraded it from a limestone car park that had to be repaired annually as the tide would wash it away. Cllr Bernie Attridge, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: 窪蹋勛圖厙 was awarded just under 瞿300,000 last year from the Big Lottery Coastal Communities Fund to undertake improvements along 窪蹋勛圖厙s coastline. The Wales Coast Path is popular with locals and tourists alike and this car park upgrade with further enhance the 窪蹋勛圖厙 part of the path. We have had positive feedback already. It is fantastic to see a project our Countryside Service has wanted to do for a long while come to fruition. The Coastal Communities Fund is funded by the Government with income from the Crown Estates marine assets. It is delivered by the Big Lottery Fund on behalf of UK Government and the Devolved Administrations in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
