St David鈥檚 Day Celebrations 2021

In partnership with 黑料吃瓜网, Wrexham County Borough Council and Ty Pawb, Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam have organised a whole week full of virtual celebrations to celebrate St. David鈥檚 Day 2021 between March 1st- 5th.
The celebrations might be a bit different but we hope that they will reflect the fact that although we are all apart this year we can still come together virtually to safely celebrate Wales鈥� Patron Saint this year. There鈥檒l be something for everyone and,听 remembering to follow Welsh Government Covid-19 guidelines at all times, you can take part in various ways:
Parade
Send video clips of your family, friends, colleagues or society parading.听
Pass the Flag
Send video clips of people passing the Welsh flag by catching it on their right hand side and throwing it to their left.听

Send a video clip of you or a family member answering the question above. Keep your answers as short and sweet as possible.听
Happy St. David鈥檚 Day
Send a video of yourselves wishing a 鈥淗appy St. David鈥檚鈥� Day in Welsh, English or in any other language that you may speak.听 听听
A virtual Eisteddfod will also be held during the week with a number of competitions for the community:听
Cooking with locally sourced ingredients
Send a picture of your culinary masterpiece along with the recipe and a picture of the local ingredient/s.
Art
Send a picture of an item created from recycled materials on the theme 鈥榃elsh History鈥�.
Photography
Send a photo on the theme 鈥楴ature鈥� or 鈥楾he Beauty of Wales鈥�.
Limerick
Write a limerick with the first line including the name 鈥楧ewi鈥�.
Welsh Learners Competition
Write a Welsh dialogue on the theme 鈥楳ae鈥檙 Gymraeg i bawb鈥� (鈥榃elsh is for everyone鈥�)
To take part in the celebrations or to compete in the Eisteddfod send your contributions/ items along with permission to share them on social media to听maiwenn@menterfflintwrecsam.cymru听by 5 February and note in which county you live. All the competition details and filming guidelines can be seen on Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam鈥檚 Facebook page.听

All videos, photos, and the Eisteddfod results along with a range of other activities will be shared on Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam鈥檚 social media platforms between 1 and 5 March.听听
