Published: 30/04/2015
窪蹋勛圖厙s very own Dragons Den Cymru is back and budding entrepreneurs
are being encouraged to sign up.
The free event, which is organised by Communities First 窪蹋勛圖厙 East
Cluster, will be at Coleg Cambrias Deeside Campus on Friday 15 May, from 10 am
until 2pm.
It is an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to
successful business entrepreneurs who want to mentor and support new business
in 窪蹋勛圖厙.
The Dragons ready to offer their support are Askar Sheibani, CEO of
Deeside-based Comtek, Christine Sheibani, Director of Comtek, Adam Butler from
Easy Online Recruitment and Mike Scott from The Group / Red Lion Marchwiel.
Councillor Derek Butler, 窪蹋勛圖厙s Cabinet Member for
Economic Development said:
I would encourage anyone who wants to be their own boss, or who needs help
becoming an entrepreneur, to come along to the Dragons Den Cymru event, which
is being organised by Communities First. Its a great opportunity - the Dragons
are all local business owners and if they think an idea has potential they will
offer voluntary one to one mentoring over the next six months.
Working alongside the Dragons Den events is the 窪蹋勛圖厙 Enterprise Club,
whose members are all entrepreneurs of various ages and at different stages of
developing their business. There is lots of free information available, and
inspirational speakers at the workshops, delivered by various organisations
including higher and further education establishments. 窪蹋勛圖厙 County
Council and Welsh Government Business Team is also available for advice and
support.
The club is free to attend and meets every other Friday, from 10 am until
12.30pm at the John Summers Community Campus, Chester Road East, Queensferry,
Deeside CH5 1SE.
Askar Sheibani, the Welsh Governments Business Entrepreneurship Champion and
CEO of telecoms repair and support company Comtek, added:
Im delighted that were holding another Dragons Den. There is a wealth of
talent and ideas in 窪蹋勛圖厙 and weve already proven, with the previous
events, that when this is harnessed and encouraged by more established members
of the business community, it can lead to overwhelming success. 窪蹋勛圖厙 has
already demonstrated that it is one of the most vibrant economic regions by
doubling the number of start-up businesses within a year. Whats more, as we
continue to add to the number of thriving businesses in the community, the
resulting economic growth is paying dividends and 窪蹋勛圖厙 is becoming an
increasingly attractive location for businesses.
